Gravitywell hackathon 2022 - Andalucía estas lista?
The poolside attire has been dusted off (let’s hope it still fits) and the emergency broadband dongles are out for delivery. Yes, after a long two-and-a-half-year hiatus, the Gravitywell team is embarking on a hackathon!
Assured by the locals that we didn’t outstay our welcome in 2019 — when we spent the week researching and developing a machine learning model to reunite owners with their lost pets — we’ll be returning to the luscious lands of Andalucía on Sunday evening to collaborate, innovate and… bebe mucha cerveza.
For those of you wondering what the hell a hackathon is, rest assured it has nothing to do with starting a cyberwar. We’ll leave that to Anonymous. For Gravitywell, a hackathon is an opportunity to get away from the intensity of client projects and focus our creativity while working more closely as a team.
Enormous credit must go to Henry, our esteemed Technical Manager (DBA Hackathon Manager), whose, well, management skills have made the improbable, possible — from navigating the not-so-sunny uplands of post-Brexit admin to the “gotcha” traps laid by budget airline marketers. We wouldn’t get much further than Winford without you.
We're keeping the project details of our hack secret for now, but stay tuned for updates here, here or even here. Once we touch down on Spanish soil you can expect a flurry of Quality Content™ — miraculously, some of it might even feature the devs. Shhh!
Until then, check out these highlights from our 2019 adventure…
