Make Pets Found (using AI) - Hackathon roundup
Another year, another Gravitywell hackathon in the bag. We’ve recently returned to Bristol from the scenic hills of Andalucia, following a successful week researching and developing a machine learning model to reunite owners with their lost pets. Our #MakePetsFound hackathon was in collaboration with Found, an exciting new Bristol-based startup, and we hope to build on our project discoveries together over the coming months.
Here are some highlights from our week in the south of Spain. You can also find links to our daily hackathon blog posts below.
Day 1 - Takeoff, Google Cloud Vision implementation & Jupyter set up.
Day 2 - Chicken coop chaos, AWS SageMaker & the WiFi hero.
Day 3 - AWS Object Detection algorithm, Python & frontend app presentation.
