Mezze
Mezze is a Gravitywell internal project and revolutionary SaaS startup designed specifically for the food industry. Having worked with the UK’s leading Food to Go manufacturer for several years, we saw an opportunity to provide a software product that meets the demands of today’s industry, where taking orders via phone and fax has now become a hindrance to productivity. Mezze is now processing over £10M in orders per month.
With powerful ordering and self-serve features, Mezze users can remove the Customer Service burden and provide a better experience for their customers. The platform boasts an array of innovative features, including a user-friendly customer ordering experience, innovative admin order and customer management, options for custom configurations / validation, and a suite of API integrations for any ERP system.
Before development began in earnest, DevOps time was spent sourcing modern, scalable cloud-based software to build the Mezze platform. We also utilised a number of skills outside of development to craft the final product. Market research and UX / UI sessions were conducted to establish the needs of the Mezze user, and how the platform should be designed to best meet them.
Mezze is a product we have designed from scratch; the brand included. We took particular care over analysing a pool of other software brands and services to gauge where exactly we wanted Mezze to fit into the market. It needed to feel food related without feeling like it was a food manufacturer, install confidence in the user - assuring them the task at hand is simple yet comprehensive and it needed to feel modern and progressive.
From a marketing perspective, photography and videography was an early consideration. Capturing the essence of the Mezze user and their experience of the platform was key, so we decided to shoot on location imitating ‘real life’ scenarios — a train station cafe, an independent grocery store, a small business back office etc.
Further marketing strategy includes a highly stylised, highly entertaining promo video which has been shared across social media and will be used at key industry events, and various blog articles on the Mezze website, such as thought leadership pieces, development insights, and company updates.
It’s extremely exciting for the team to see an internal project evolve into a real product and fully fledged startup, sending it out into the world to be used by real customers and users. Mezze is already being trusted by some of the most prominent food suppliers in the country, and is available to businesses large and small on a range of price tiers, as well as a free trial.
